Connect to WiFi
Your NHCS device should connect automatically to the network while at school. If it does not, make sure WiFi has not been turned off.
At home: click the WiFi icon, select your home network, and enter your WiFi password to connect.
Laptop won’t boot
Try a “powerflush” to reset your laptop:
- Unplug the laptop charger.
- Hold the power button down for 15 seconds.
- Keep holding the power button, plug the charger back in, and hold for 15 more seconds.
- Let go of the power button and wait a few seconds.
- Turn the laptop back on by pressing the power button once.
Can’t log in to a laptop you took home
Always sign into your laptop at school before bringing it home for the first time. If you skip this step, you won’t be able to log in at home.
If this happens, bring the laptop back to campus, connect to the NHCS WiFi, and log in there. After that, it will work at home too.
Saving or downloading files at home
Students can’t save or download files directly to the laptop. Use a flash drive or save your work to the cloud instead.
Error message when logging in at home
Seeing “Your domain isn’t available”? You’re likely typing the wrong username, or your WiFi isn’t connected. Double-check both and try again.
