NC Aquarium Our 1st grade sharks took a trip to the Fort Fisher Aquarium to learn about their environment and met many of their fellow aquatic friends, discovering alligators, snakes, sea jellies, sea turtles, other sharks, and an ocean of fish.

African American Read-in Our annual read-in brings community members into our school to read selected children's books whose authors/illustrators are African American. Through these stories, students can find themselves in the characters which is important for cultural representation.
NC Jazz Assembly Some well-known Jazz musicians were here for the annual NC Jazz Festival and performed for us in a school-wide assembly. They played musical pieces focused on Louis Armstrong and got our students and staff scatting to the beat!
Thalian Hall First and Second Grade enjoyed their trip to historic Thalian Hall to watch an interactive theatre performance of Bug Story.
Masonboro Island 5th Graders took their annual trip to Masonboro Island to explore the diverse ecosystems with activities that included crabbing, investigating the life found in a salt marsh and exploring one of the best shelling beaches in our state.
