IBEC Writing club hosts guest speakers from Honey Head Film Studios

On August 25, the IBECHS Writing Club hosted guest speakers from Honey Head Film Studios and the Shoot Like A Girl after school filmmaking camp. The all female film company presented tips for screenwriting and discussed the inner workings of the independent film industry. Nine students took part in the lunch and learn opportunity and were inspired to try their hand at screenwriting next in the club.

Future Teacher Career Academy students attended the Future Teacher Career Conference at Watson College of Education on March 24th. While there, they mingled with other high school students from a multitude of surrounding counties to learn more about various avenues one can pursue through Education. Representatives from different majors and programs at UNCW presented and interacted with students throughout the day as students explored possible areas of interest. Big thanks to Courtney Townsend (Watson instructor) and Danielle Talbert (IBECHS site coordinator) for providing students with these awesome opportunities. It was a great day for all involved!
