15th - Varsity Tutor Scholarship - monthly essay contest $200
15th - Gates Scholarship - A highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential.
27th - QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship - "Are you a low-income high school senior who has excelled academically, but feels that the nation’s best colleges are financially out of reach? The QuestBridge National College Match can be your pathway to a top college. Through this college and scholarship application process, you can apply for free to the nation’s best colleges and be considered for early admission and a full four-year scholarship."

23rd - Golden Door Scholarship - for undocumented students, applications are read as they come so applying early helps.
31st - Coca Cola Scholarship - 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. Achievement based scAchievement-based to students in their final year of high school.
31st - CVFW Youth Scholarship - Grades 9-12 are eligible. Prize can be for university/college or vocational school. 1st Place is $35,000. Audio-Essay theme for '22-'23 "Why is the Veteran Important?"

11th - Cheerleading Scholarship - The applicant must be a member of a cheerleading squad registered for and participating in the NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational event that year. This scholarship recognizes and rewards outstanding cheerleaders exemplifying sound character and academic standing, good sportsmanship, and school spirit by providing financial assistance in furthering their college/university education. Four (4) $500.00 scholarships will be awarded during the NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational, with one given to a cheerleader per NCHSAA classification (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A).

9th - Ron Brown Scholarship - Applicants for the Ron Brown Scholarship must be Black/African American and U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
9th - N.C. Teaching Fellows Scholarship Program - High school students can receive $33,000 in forgivable loans ($8250 per year for up to four years), if they are willing to commit to teach in STEM or special education in any N.C. public schools. The 5 participating colleges are Elon, Meredith, N.C. State, UNC Chapel Hill, and UNC Charlotte.

Students that have completed a computer science course and plan to obtain a Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or other computer science related field of study.
31st - The Black American Engineering Scholarship Award - Must be a Black American pursuing a degree in civil, electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering, including any subfield of those disciplines.

13th - Coastal Federation's Coastal Stewardship Award Application - This $1,000 award is open to graduating high school seniors in all of North Carolina’s 20 coastal counties to recognize outstanding stewardship of our coastal environment.
20th - Charlie Adams Endowed Scholarship - Who should apply: a female, senior varsity cross-country athlete at an NCHSAA member high school or a male, senior varsity wrestler at an NCHSAA member high school. Awarded to two senior male high school athletes participating on the varsity wrestling team and two senior female high school athletes participating on the varsity cross-country team at a North Carolina High School Athletic Association member high school. Recipients each receive a one-time award of $2,500 .
20th - Wilburn Clary Medal Application - Who should apply: Male or female, senior student-athlete participating on two (2) or more different varsity teams. Awarded to one male and one female graduating senior student-athlete participating on a sanctioned varsity sports team during his/her senior year at a North Carolina High School Athletic Association member school. The athlete must have participated in at least two sanctioned varsity sports during his/her high school career. Each recipient receives a one-time $3,000.00 scholarship award

1st - AFA Teens for Alzheimer’s Awareness College Scholarship Essay Contest - Application will open in fall.
1st - David & Dovetta Wilson Scholarships - Easy! Everyone with a GPA above 2.5 should apply. No essay required.
1st- ACS Scholars - For students that are African-American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, or American Indian, or more than once race and intending to major in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical technology, or another chemistry-related science AND planning to pursue a career in a chemistry-related science.

2nd - Create-A-Greeting Card Scholarship - Submit original photo, artwork or computer graphics for the front of a greeting card.
3rd - Wilmington Roadrunner Scholarship - ALL eligible seniors are encouraged to apply. We are looking for the heroes of our area high school running teams. Our program is not necessarily designed to reward the fastest runner; school records are not part of our selection criteria BUT, proven leadership and exemplary community involvement are!
10th - Founders Centennial Scholarship - The award is targeted to honor a female high school senior who exhibits personal integrity and excellence through academic achievement and community involvement, and the awardee must demonstrate a moderate to significant need for financial assistance in attaining her higher educational goals.11th- Dennis J. Sommer Scholarship for Excellence in Education - Applicants must be Alliance Credit Union Members. Application will open in January.
15th - Trane Technician of the Future Scholarship - for students pursing a degree or certification in HVAC
17th - The Mark Dreibelbis Scholarship - To provide scholarship support to outstanding student-athletes participating on a sanctioned varsity team at a North Carolina High School Athletic Association member school who has displayed exceptional leadership. Recipients each receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship.
17th - Jerry McGee Endowed Student Scholarship - Awarded to two senior year high school student-athletes from North Carolina High School Athletic Association member schools each year. This award is unique because it honors both male and female student-athletes who have distinguished themselves by overcoming adversity and returned to excel beyond expectations in their scholastic athletic sport(s).
24th - Pat Gainey Student Award Application - Who should apply: male high school varsity baseball players or female high school varsity student-athletes. To provide scholarship support for two student-athletes with a focus on need-based applicants. Applicants must be either a senior, male high school athlete participating on a varsity baseball team, or a senior, female student high school athlete participating on a varsity sports team at a North Carolina High School Athletic Association member high school within a county of limited financial resources. Each recipient receives a one-time $5,000.00 scholarship award.
24th - Willie Bradshaw Memorial Endowed Scholarship - Who should apply: a male or female senior varsity athlete of an African American, *American Indian/Alaska Native, **Asian & Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American descent. To provide scholarship support to an outstanding African American, American Indian/Alaska Native* and/or Asian Pacific Islander American**, or Hispanic American student-athlete participating on a sanctioned varsity team at a North Carolina High School Athletic Association member school. Award Process: One male and one female from each of the eight regions will be selected to receive a one-time $750 scholarship to further their education. In the event that applications are not submitted from all eight regions, other submitted applications may be considered to complete the pool of sixteen regional recipients. From the pool of sixteen (16) regional recipients, one male and female will be selected as overall state winners and receive an additional $1,000 each.
25th - North Carolina Retail Merchants Association Scholarship Program - High School Seniors who are a spouse or dependent of a permanent, full-time employee of an NCRMA retail member company. Employee must be employed for at least one year as of 1/1/21. Any student who at a minimum is a part-time employee of an NCRMA retail member company for at least six months as of 1/1/21.

10th - Merit Scholarship Program at Cape Fear Community College - Application will be open from March 1 - April 10. Students apply online after they are admitted to Cape Fear Community College, in a curriculum program. The application requires three documents be uploaded - a resume, a transcript and a recommendation letter. Students must answer the essay question: "Tell us your personal and career goals. How will attending CFCC and receiving the CFCC Merit Scholarship help you reach these goals?"
14th - Tony Cullen Memorial Scholarship (Endowed Scholarship) - To provide scholarship support for two senior male and two senior female high school student-athletes participating on the varsity level lacrosse team at a North Carolina High School Athletic Association member high school, planning to attend a college or university in pursuit of higher education. Each recipient receives a one-time award of $1,000.

This scholarship will provide $2,500 in educational assistance to 2 female high school seniors who enroll as full-time students at a Historically Black College or University in the fall of the award year.
14th - FloSports Track & field Scholarship - Through partnership with the NCHSAA, FloSports has designated funds to be used towards scholarship support of one male and one female track and field student-athlete at NCHSAA member schools. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

1st- Jerome and Harriett Shain Evenson Scholarship in Education at UNCG - First preference will be given to an entering freshman, public school student from New Hanover County (NC). This will be a one-time award and will not be renewable. The recipient will be entering UNCG with the intention of becoming an education major.

12th - Abbott & Fenner Scholarship - The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay on the topic below. The essay should be between 500 and 1000 words.
