Summer Learning 2024
 
There are three programs to support student learning over our summer months offered at NHCS. Academic summer programs include camps for Read to Achieve, 1st-year Multilingual Learners, and High School Credit Recovery.
 
All three programs are by invitation. Letters will be going home soon and must be returned to be eligible to participate. 
 
Bus transportation is provided, but will need to be requested on the form sent home with students.

 

 
 
Read to Achieve Camp
(2nd-3rd Graders)
 

Read to Achieve students will receive reading instruction daily. This camp is invitation only based on state requirements for reading. 3rd grade students will retake their reading assessment at the end of camp. 

Students will have access to breakfast and lunch services through Child Nutrition. Students will also have time for recess during their day. Bus transportation is provided, but will need to be requested on the form sent home with students.

June 17 - July 2
Multilingual Camp
(1st year in U.S. Schools)
 
Multilingual students completing their first year in U.S. Schools will also be invited to join our summer camp programs.
 
This camp is invitation only and supported by our federal funds to improve access to the English language with a focus on preparing students for their upcoming school year. 
 
Students will have access to breakfast and lunch services through Child Nutrition. Students will also have time for recess during their day. Bus transportation is provided, but will need to be requested on the form sent home with students. 
 
Monday-Friday 8 AM-3 PM
June 17- July 2 at Williston Middle School
Credit Recovery Opportunity
(High School Students)
 
Current seniors and rising seniors will have an opportunity for credit recovery to support their goals of high school graduation.
 
This invite only program provides access to online credit recovery options and will be hosted at our four traditional high schools.
 
Please get in touch with your school counselor if you believe this is a good fit for your senior or junior. 
 
Sessions are held in the mornings 9am-12:30pm. Dates for this program run from June 17-18 and July 8-19.
Program Locations: Blair, Bradley Creek, College Park, International School at Gregory, Pine Valley, MC Williams, Wrightsboro Elementary; Williston Middle; Ashley, Hoggard, NHHS, and Laney High School.
