Covid Information
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services discontinued the "NC StrongSchools Toolkit." School administrators, staff, and families should now refer to the CDC's Operational Guidance for K12 Schools for information on how to lower the risk of COVID-19.
Highlights of policies for schools include:
-
Physical distancing strategies are no longer recommended
-
Universal contact tracing is not recommended.
-
Testing, ventilation, and cleaning remain important layers of protection
Masks are optional for both students and staff.
Additionally, New Hanover County Health and Human Services is no longer collecting data on COVID cases in schools, so there will be no "dashboard" for the 22/23 school year.
